The above photograph appeared on the front page of the February 11, 2010
edition of The West Essex Tribune in Livingston, NJ. February 8th is the birth
date of Robert Baden-Powell who founded the Scouting movement, and is
traditionally celebrated as the date of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America.
The photograph was taken of the crowed at random and what the photographer
was unaware of was several otherwise interesting and noteworthy aspects of
the photo.
Aidan (on the right) is a First Class Boy Scout which is the rank that the BSA
uses as the "goal" or level of desired achievement in the program. He is lighting
the candle of WEBELOS Cub Scout Sean Skinner who in a few weeks time will
be bridging over from the Cub Scout Pack to the Boy Scout Troop. The theme of
"Lighting a candle to light our way forward" is clearly visible in the photo and
includes both Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.

The Orange Mountains District patch was re-designe by my
father and served the district for about four years. In 2011,
the Northern New Jersey Council merged the 9 Districts that
made up the Council into 4 Districts, and the Orange Mountains
District was renamed the Lenape Trail District and merged with
Broken Arrow and Robert Treat, which contains all of Essex County, NJ. The Lenape Trail is an actual hiking trail which links
all of the county parks in Essex County and is 70% parkland, and 30% street, which again is something of an unique feature.
For the short time this patch was in use, it became a widely
recognized commodity and was known to have been included
in several Scout presentations which is the mark of a really
unique item.

Hello! My name is Aidan Romualdo and I would like
to welcome you to my official Cub Scout and Boy
Scout web site!
I wanted to keep my family and friends updated on
my progress through the Scout programs and I
had my dad help me with making this web site.
This site will tell you about my past adventures in
the Cub Scouts and my current adventures in the
Boy Scouts.
I began Scouting in 2003 and have been fortunate
to be a historical witness to the 75th anniversary
of the Cub Scout program in 2005 as a Cub Scout.
I was also there for the 100th anniversary
celebration of the founding of the Boy Scouts of
America on February 8, 2010 as a First Class Scout.
I and am happy and proud to be a part of a great
organization that teaches life skills, self reliance,
duty to God, duty to country, duty to self, and also
reinforces my personal values and morals.
In Scouting we do many things and I cannot put
everything here but this site will give you a
glimpse of what someone can learn and do.
This page serves as the portal for two sites.
One for Cub Scouting and the other for Boy
Scouting.
Please use the navigation buttons below to enter either the Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts sections of
the site. Each will take you to the specific program and will show you what I have done or am still doing.
There are also links to the various associated
units of the Scouting program for those who
want to learn more about Scouting in the
United States and the around the world.
Have a good time and thanks for visiting!
Yours in Scouting,
Aidan Romualdo

The United States Congress authorized the US Mint to issue a commorative
Dollar coin to honor the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts
of America. The Boy Scouts of America is one of only two organizations in the United States Chartered by Congress, the other being the American Red Cross.
Irving Berlin after writing the song "God Bless America" dedicated all of the
royalties and proceeds form it to the Boy Scouts of America because of the
importance he placed in the organization as an educational tool for the youth in America.
